LIINA SIIB’s project Woman Takes Up Less Space will represent Estonia at the 54th International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia.
Liina Siib's (born 1963) works deal with different aspects of femininity, social space, memory and desire. Woman Takes Up Less Space is a response to the opinion articles on equal sex that have been recently published in Estonian press. Challenging the misleading argument that women need less space and salary for doing their daily job than their male colleagues, Liina Siib photographs women she meets in public. Siib's photographs of women are always full of dreams and stories.
