This is a collection of photographs by artists of the same generation, born between 1975 and 1985. They all come from the Baltic countries: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Having been born in the Soviet Union and matured in independent states, they think through images, create fictions and visualize their memory in very different ways, but at the same time there are many parallels between their works. “Generation of the Place” is simultaneously a metaphor that describes this community, which comes together in the photographs and their context. You can flip through this publication as an album or as a magazine, in which texts and images form a consistent pleasant, yet also critical texture.
